LISBON FALLS — The Lisbon High School baseball team jumped out to a 7-0 lead through two innings and held on for a 10-8 Mountain Valley Conference win over Madison on Friday.

The Greyhounds improved to 7-7 and visit Hall-Dale on Wednesday, while the Bulldogs fell to 5-10.

Ryan Riordan singled, doubled and drove in three runs for the hosts, while teammate Brandon Hovey was 3-for-4, including two doubles, and drove in four runs. Kyle Priddle singled twice and had two RBIs.

Mason Smith went the first four innings for the mound win. “He threw over 100 pitches through four innings,” said Lisbon coach Randy Ridley, whose starter struck out seven, walked three and permitted just two hits.

Hovey relieved, surviving a six-run Madison fifth inning and picking up one strikeout and walking four.

RANGELEY 9

In the first game of a Friday doubleheader played at Jay, Richmond scored nine runs in the fifth inning and eight more in the sixth in a three-hour contest.

Ben Carver paced the victory with three singles and a double, while Tyler Harrington and Dustin Sullivan had two singles each.

Carver and Harrington took turns on the mound with six walks and seven strikeouts. Four Rangeley pitchers combined on 16 walks and three strikeouts.

RICHMOND 9

In the nightcap, Richmond’s Kade Strout twirled a three-hit shutout as the Bobcats improved to 4-10 and are scheduled to close out the regular season today at home versus Sacopee Valley.

Strout struck out five and walked two. Carver led the six-hit offense with a double and Sullivan chipped in with two singles.

OAK HILL 1

In Class B action on Friday, visiting Morse scored two runs in the second inning on a lead-off single by Liam McDonough and RBI singles from Christopher Paulus and Chris Luedee.

Morse scored two more runs in the third on another McDonough single, and added two more in the fourth on triples by CJ Hardin and Zach Groat.

Trenton Moore pitched the first four innings for Morse, giving up two hits, while striking out four. Hardin came on to pitch in the fifth and gave up a hit with three walks, while allowing the only run for Oak Hill. Aaron Barrett pitched three perfect innings of relief, while striking out four and giving up no hits.

MT. ARARAT 2

OXFORD HILLS 10

The visiting Eagles fell to 3- 12 on Friday in KVAC action, with a visit to Lawrence slated for today at 4 p.m.

Trent Charnock doubled, and Brendon Glass and Jordan Daigle each singled to account for Mt. Ararat’s three hits against Oxford Hills starter Logan Sanborn, who struck out seven and walked five.

Dylan Cyr, Reilly Pickering and Nick Attadiaddis each singled twice for the Vikings.

On the mound, Joey Van Note went the first five innings, with Troy Frey finishing up for the Eagles. They combined on 10 hits, three strikeouts and five walks.
