The Morse High School football team received a $1,000 donation from the Thomas R. Brown Athletics Grant Fund and the California Casualty Company, in partnership with the National Education Association. The funds will be used to purchase new helmets and shoulder pads for next season. New high school regulations require that helmets and shoulder pads be refurbished every year and replaced every five years. Morse physical education teacher and assistant football coach Charlie Bingham applied for the grant.
