BRUNSWICK— Brunswick Junior High School’s hearing and ventilation systems are in need of about a half-million dollars of repairs and upgrades, and the town council wants to obtain that funding through a bond.

The council on Monday set a hearing July 7 to bond $454,080 for the project.

The cost is based on an estimate by Siemens Industry Inc., which is contracted by the school department.

Upgrades at the junior high school are part of an overall multi-year HVAC upgrade at Brunswick schools.

Councilor Jane Millett said she was concerned about expending money on buildings, including the junior high and Coffin Elementary, which are due for major renovations.
