BANGOR ( AP) — The University of Maine System Board of Trustees has unanimously reappointed Chancellor James H. Page through June 2018.

Page is the first Maine native and University of Maine alumnus to serve as chancellor. The chancellor, who leads his family’s consulting firm in Old Town, is also the first businessman to lead the system’s seven universities.

In a statement, Board of Trustees Chairman Sam Collins said Monday that Page “has delivered impressive results, earning the board’s appreciation and a unanimous endorsement for reappointment.”

His annual salary is $277,500.
