LISBON FALLS — Kailyn Hill struck out eight as the Lisbon High School softball team picked up a big 5-1 Mountain Valley Conference win over Dirigo on Thursday.

The Greyhounds (6-10) jumped from 10th to eighthplace in the Western Maine Class C Heal Point standings with the win over the No. 3 Cougars, who fell to 11-5.

Hill allowed just four hits.

Arianna Kahler drove in a pair of runs with a triple to break a 1-1 tie. Olivia Harrington and Molly Nicholson each had three hits, while Monica Austin picked up a pair of base-knocks for the Greyhounds.

Trinity Deen came within a single of hitting for the cycle as the Mariners picked up a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B win over Morse, which fell to 3-11 and hosts Gardiner today.

Brooke Dugan singled twice, doubled and launched a home run, while Alexis Muzurak picked up three hits. Kalyn Grover also went deep for Oceanside (9-5).

Hope Faulkingham singled twice for the Shipbuilders, with Lauren Chandler adding a single.

Jacelyn McNeill took the mound loss, with six strikeouts and one walk. Haley Richardson was the winning pitcher with 11 strikeouts and three walks.

GREENVILLE 1

Cassidy Harriman launched a grand-slam home run and singled twice with six RBIs to power the visiting Bobcats to an East-West Conference win in the first game of a doubleheader.

Meranda Martin had three hits, including a home run, and drove in three runs, while Kelsie Obi and Camryn Hurley each singled twice. Hurley picked up two RBIs.

Martin tossed a four-hitter, with seven strikeouts and no walks.

Jasmine Senatus singled and doubled for Greenville.

The Bobcats made it a sweep as Martin pitched and hit her team to a 10-0 mark, with a visit to Forest Hills for a doubleheader slated for Monday.

Martin singled, doubled, homered and drove in six runs. On the mound, she struck out three, walked two and allowed eight hits.

Kalah Patterson doubled and drove in a pair of runs in the win, while Harriman singled twice and picked up an RBI.

Senatus had two hits, including a double for the 8-4 Lakers.
