BRUNSWICK — Marie Georgianna Cote, 82, born October 10, 1929, daughter of Belonie Cote and Marie Ann Levesque Cote, passed away peacefully at the Hospice House in Auburn on Monday, April 23, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.
Although she never had children of her own, her three generations of nieces and nephews were the loves of her life. She was known by all of them as "Aunt Georgie". She graduated from St. John’s School and was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church. Georgia worked at various jobs before working 27 years at a cotton mill in Augusta and then Jay Corp. In Lisbon Falls until her retirement.
She was predeceased by her parents, three sisters, Adele Wood, Louise Letarte and Jeannette Mann.
She is survived by two sisters, Cecile Litalien and her husband Roger of Topsham; Rosalie Vaillancourt of Mass. and one brother, Louis P. Cote of Topsham, and three generations of nieces and nephews.
It was her wish that there be no visiting hours. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. John’s Church in Brunswick on Thursday, April 26th at 10:00 a.m. and graveside prayers and burial services will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Brunswick. If desired, donations can be made to The Hospice House, Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice, 236 Stetson Road, Auburn, ME 04210. Arrangements are under the care of Brackett Funeral Home in Brunswick.
