I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1044, president Joseph Armstrong and Mid Coast Veterans Resource Center, Director AWCS Reed Rich for an outstanding ceremony at Brunswick Landing. I have attended many services for Memorial Day but have never been so touched. They truly honored our fallen heroes and veterans.
For those of you who missed the ceremony, it was truly your loss. Again, thank you for such an honorable dedication. A special thanks goes out to Dave Patch and his wife for checking nursing homes to see if any vets needed a ride to the ceremony.
The effort also helped the Veterans Resource Center locate veterans in local facilities. Oh yes, and thanks for a wonderful BBQ.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
