The Morse High School softball team exploded for six runs in the sixth inning for a 10-6 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win over Medomak Valley on Monday.
The Shipbuilders ended a three-game losing streak and improved to 4-3. Morse hosts Maine Central Institute in a make-up game today at 4 p.m.
Marissa Parks led the way the plate for Morse. She doubled, singled twice and drove in four runs. Hope Faulkingham doubled, singled and picked up three RBIs, while Meghan Stover, Mikayla Rose and Micailah Albertson each singled twice.
Parks struck out six and walked four for the mound win.
Hanna Wotmaugh had two singles, and Lydia Simmons and Gabby Depatsy each doubled for Medomak Valley.

HAMPDEN 8
Abby Lord doubled, tripled and drove in three runs to lead the Broncos to a key KVAC win over Mt. Ararat.
Hampden Academy (5-3) also received two hits from Julia Sicard.
Katelyn Cox paced the Eagles (4-4) with two doubles and a triple, while Kayleigh Temple tripled, and Sara Lamb and Alana Weaver each singled.
Mt. Ararat hosts Camden Hills on Wednesday at 4:15 p.m.

BRUNSWICK 0
The visiting Rams put up seven runs in the fifth inning to pick up a mercy rule win over the Dragons, who fell to 1-8 and visits Lewiston on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
Sydney Cheever, Kasidy Turgeon and Allee Cloutier had two hits each for Cony. Skyler Watson held Brunswick to a single by Ketty Stinson and walked two. She struck out seven.

FRYEBURG 12
Fryeburg Academy scored six runs in the fourth inning and went for a mercy rule win over Freeport.
Makayla Cooper was 4- for-4 with six RBIs for the 6-3 Raiders. Brooke Juneau launched a two-run home run.
Bailey Karnes singled and stole a base for the Falcons, who fell to 3-6 and hosts Gray-New Gloucester on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

WISCASSET 4
Jill Whynot hit two home runs to lift the visiting Bulldogs to a Mountain Valley Conference win over Wiscasset.
Stephanie Jones tripled and scored a run for the Wolverines (1-7), while Lindsey Gordon belted a three-run home run.
Wiscasset visits Mountain Valley on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
