Calypso is a 2-and-a-half-year-old, spayed, female pit bull dog. She is brown and white and was last seen wearing an orange martingale collar and dragging a leash. Calypso escaped from her foster family in the Union Street area of Bath on the morning of Tuesday, April 17. Confirmed sightings have been in the areas of Hyde School, Shaw’s Supermarket and Gilmore’s Seafood. Anyone who has seen Calypso is asked to contact the Coastal Humane Society at 725-5051 or Bath animal control officer. “Coastal Humane Society is more than happy to work with anyone who has taken Calypso in and wishes to make her a part of their family, but please contact us so we may fulfill our medical responsibility to this dog,” a Coastal Humane Society release states. Without heartworm treatments, “Calypso’s life is in jeopardy,” the release states. Updates on the search will be available at the society’s Facebook page. (Courtesy of CHS)
