TOPSHAM — One of the drivers involved in a two-car crash Monday morning was transported to a Lewiston hospital for non-lifethreatening injuries.
The crash was reported at 8:31 a.m. at the intersection of the Route 196 bypass and Village Drive.
According to Topsham police, a 2004 Jaguar driven by John H. Fresne, 50, of 674 Middle St., No. 2, Bath, stopped for a light at the intersection on Route 196 facing south. When the signal showed a green left arrow, he began turning left onto Village Drive.
As Fresne turned, a 2005 Chevrolet van driven north by Paul L. Davis, 22, of 1084 Waldoboro Road, Bremen, allegedly continued through the intersection, running a solid red light, and collided with the Jaguar.
A Brunswick Rescue ambulance took Fresne to Central Maine Medical Center for treatment of pain to his neck. Davis sustained non-incopacitating injuries and was not transported.
No criminal charges were issued, according to Topsham Police Lt. Christopher Lewis.
Both vehicles were towed from the crash scene.
