Jackie Sylvester passed peacefully away late Saturday night April 30, 2016. She had become ill Friday night and was surrounded by family prior to passing.

Jackie was born 1929 and raised in Bath, Maine. She was the daughter of Edward “Red” McMann and Hazel Robbins.

Jackie found amusement in most everything. No topic was off color and no topic was safe from ridicule. Even her disgust of tacky pink flamingo house adornments wouldn’t stop her from putting the patronizing gifts on her lawn as a running gag. Jackie enjoyed her time at their camp “Drift In” in Sabino hosting family and friends and finally moving down there, Morse class of ‘47 Alumni activities, Birthday Gang lunches, recent casino trips and an occasional cocktail.

Jackie married her high school sweetheart, Donald Sylvester and had worked at Happy House nursery school for many years before retiring.

Jackie once told her grandsons “everything in moderation”. She proved this to be true with a long life of 86 years .

She is also survived by three of her sisters: Paula Adam, Marie Peasley and Jean Markwood. She was predeceased by her husband Donald Sylvester and a sister Barbara Carlyle.

According with her wishes there will be no services. A celebration of her life is being planned for a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to the Morse High School Alumni Association.
