I used to watch the Town Council meetings, and I always thought that Jackie Sartoris made the most sense. As a Franco American who’s lived here all my life — 74 years — I believe the town of Brunswick needs somebody who is passionate about our town, and I could see Jackie really cares about the people.
Later on, when I was working at Hannaford’s, we’d get to talking, and I got to know who the real Jackie is. When Jackie decided to leave the Council, I was very upset, because I knew we were losing a key person.
On big things and little things, she’s a real leader who gets things done, and learns by listening. Jackie’s put in the time and effort and made a real difference for Brunswick and has earned our support in June. I look forward to seeing her work for us in Augusta.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
