CONSTRUCTION CREWS from Harry C. Crooker and Sons go to work, demolishing the former Navy Fire Department building at Brunswick Executive Airport. The Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority stated Wednesday that Building 292 was being taken down this week. Apparently, the Navy had planned on scrapping the 10,665 square foot building constructed in 1957 but ended up leaving it behind. MRRA said they hope to replace the building with a general aviation hangar or other aviation facility as business at the airport grows.
