BREWER — The Mt. Ararat High School baseball and softball squads traveled to Brewer on Tuesday in KVAC action and were swept.

Alana Weaver hurled six innings and allowed four hits with six strikeouts and three walks for the 0-2 Eagles, who are scheduled to host Bangor today.

Megan Davis went seven innings for Brewer (1-1) and allowed six hits with six strikeouts and three walks.

Trailing 1-0, the Eagles tied the game in the third when Hannah Reis walked and scored on two stolen bases and a throwing error on a strikeout.

Trailing 2-1, Mt. Ararat went up 3-2 in the fifth. Piper Ingle singled to lead off the inning, Katelyn Cox walked, and Sara Lamb bunted to load the bases. A Kate Guerin single brought in two runs.

Brewer responded with two runs in the home half of the fifth on a Maddy Bailey two-run home run.

Evan Riva and Matt Pushard combined on a fivehitter with 10 strikeouts as the 2-0 Witches bested the 0-2 Eagles, who host Bangor today at 4 p.m.

Michael Grimble had two singles to lead the Brewer offense, which had seven hits against Mt. Ararat pitchers Liam Brannigan, Dakota D’Orio and Cam Cox.

The Eagles’ trio combined on five strikeouts and six walks.

Kevin Carter picked up two singles for Mt. Ararat, with Griffin Stockford (RBI), Cox (first varsity hit) and Dylan Johnson each singling.
