BRUNSWICK — Harris Golf will operate the golf course at Brunswick Landing again this summer and for the foreseeable future, after the redevelopment authority on Tuesday voted to enter into a multi-year lease with the company.

The five-year lease includes three additional options to renew, according to Steve Levesque, executive director of the Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority.

Harris Management Inc., would pay MRRA $12,000 this year and next, $15,000 the following year, and the lease price would increase from there.

John Moncure, chairman of the MRRA board of directors, spoke in support of the operation, noting that the nine-hole golf course “is really in better shape than it was when I used to play when I was in the Navy.”

“We were extra pleased by the feedback we received from the public,” Levesque said. “It was a very nice golf course. Harris did a great job running it last year. It really fills a niche … with a lot of retirees and young people.”
