FREEPORT — The Freeport Town Council will hold a public hearing tonight on a proposed five-year capital plan for fiscal years 2012 to 2016.

According to a memo from Town Manager Dale Olmstead, the plan includes technology upgrades for the town, infrastructure and road upgrades and similar projects for all town departments.

In an email, council chairman Jim Cassida said the hearing will include an overview of the budget process, an introduction of the town manager’s proposed capital budget, introduction of a new request from the Shellfish Commission, council remarks and a public hearing.

After the council’s regular meeting, the council will adjourn to a capital budget workshop to discuss the proposed budget.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the town council chambers, following an annual council workshop at 6 p.m. with Freeport Community Services, the PORT Teen Center, and the Freeport Elders.
