STOCKTON SPRINGS (AP) — Authorities are continuing to search for a Maine Maritime Academy student last seen in Orono in late February.

WLBZ-TV reports crews on Sunday searched for 21- year-old David Breunig of Westbrook two miles north and three miles south of Sandy Point Beach, where cadaver dogs last picked up a possible scent.

Volunteers spent much of Saturday searching the area after an “object of interest” was spotted from shore. Officials say Maine Marine Patrol officers were unable to locate the object on Sunday.

Officials say Marine Patrol officers are currently flying a sea plane to cover about a two-mile area.

Breunig was last seen at about 11:30 p.m. Feb. 26, when he left a party and was walking toward the train tracks near a railroad bridge that crosses the Stillwater River.
