BUCKSPORT (AP) — Demolition of the former Verso paper mill in Bucksport has been delayed while a liquidation company seeks a new contractor.

AIM Development says work was stopped this month because of financial issues with the contractor. But the company said it’ll be back on track in a few weeks.

Susan Lessard, interim town manager of Bucksport, tells WLBZ-TV that some of the subcontractors called over the past week to report that they weren’t getting paid.

Jeff McGlin, vice president of AIM Development, said the project will be back on track after a new contractor is selected.
