VOLUNTEERS FANNED OUT in the Midcoast and across the U.S. to honor Read Across America Day, celebrating the birthday of Dr. Seuss, by reading to schoolchildren March 2. Seth Berry, a former teacher and state legislator who is presently vice president of a business in Richmond, read to the classes of Mrs. Petteruti and Mrs. Frye at the Bowdoinham Community School. The event was organized locally by the United Way of Midcoast Maine as the 2016 Commmunity Read Aloud. For information or to volunteer for next year, visit uwmcm.org.
