Ciera Miller took first place in the competition and is looking to qualify for the State Level Bee to be held in March.
Second place went to Jacob Fusaro. Both winners were provided with certificates, medals, and gift cards for Books-a-Million. Miller also won a full- color reference book to further her studies in geography and social sciences.
Amy Kissell, seventh grade English language arts/social studies teacher, was the bee coordinator and advisor for the group as it practiced and studied for the competition.
“All of the members of the PWS Geography Bee worked very hard in preparation for the school level National Geographic Bee. It was really fun to see their efforts pay off as they answered many challenging questions correctly in the multiple rounds of competition. I’m so proud of everyone who challenged themselves to participate,” said Kissell.
