BRUNSWICK — Bowdoin’s Lucas Hausman was named First Team All-NESCAC, while first-year Jack Simonds was named Rookie of the Year in awards handed out by the New England Small College Athletic Conference on Wednesday.

Hausman landed on the First Team for the second consecutive season. The 2015 NESCAC Player of the Year is the only player in the conference to average more than 20 points per game, pouring in 25.3 points per contest, which is a program record and the highest scoring average by a player since the NESCAC began conference play in 2000-01.

Hausman, who finished the season with 581 points, was held to single digits in just one game and recorded 30 or more points in seven games. One of the best free- throw shooters in the league, Hausman converted 88- percent of his attempts to finish with 162, which is 37 more than second place. He has also been named First Team Academic All- American and a Jostens Trophy finalist.

Simonds became the first player in Bowdoin men’s basketball history to garner NESCAC Rookie of the Year accolades. The forward made an immediate impact in the league, scoring 20 points or more in eight games, including four of the last five contests. Simonds ranks sixth in the league in scoring at 16.3 points per game, and leads the conference in free-throw shooting percentage at 89.7 percent.
