TOPSHAM — Doris Broad Brown, formerly of Old Orchard Beach and Arundel, Maine, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2016 at Cadigan Lodge, The Highlands, in Topsham, Maine.
She was born in Mars Hill, Maine on September 5, 1925 to Leah May Kilcollins Broad and Guy Clifford Broad.
She worked at various jobs throughout her life, first in the South Portland shipyard during WWII. There she met and married Wallace Street Brown of Ellsworth, Maine. After the war she worked many years at the Pepperill Mill in Saco. Doris was a member of the Button Society of Maine and loved collecting buttons.
Doris is survived by her son Arthur Joseph Brown and wife Anne of Durham and her sister Mary E. Ortiz of Azusa, CA. Doris was predeceased by her husband, other sisters and her brothers.
Her ashes will be interred at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco, Maine in the spring. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Brackett Funeral Home, Brunswick.
