FIREFIGHTERS EXTINGUISH a blaze that destroyed a two-car garage at 287 Hacker Road in Brunswick early this morning. The fire was reported at 5:07 a.m. Crews arrived the garage was fully involved and starting to melt the siding of a house only 10 feet away. No one was hurt and the house’s occupants escaped. The house sustained only exterior damage. The house and garage belong to Dale and Sherie Perreault. The cause of the fire is under investigation. “It was a good stop, it really was,” Brunswick Fire Chief Ken Brillant said. “Another couple minutes and it easily could have been into the main house and it would have been a different story.” The fire drew a mutual aid response from Freeport, Topsham, West Bath, Durham and Lisbon.
