
He was a survivor of the Korean War, the battle of the Chosin Reservoir and other skirmishes where he was wounded and consequently awarded two Purple Hearts.
James was born in Chicago, Illinois, although he grew up in Saint Paul, Minnesota, where most of his family lived. He was a graduate of Columbia University and DePaul University. James had a long career in human resources and contract negotiations in the newspaper industry. His favorite place on earth was Rangeley where he spent his free time and much of his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Holly Baysinger; his son, James Baysinger and his wife Meredith and their two sons Trey and Henry, as well as his daughter, Marjorie Baysinger, of Brunswick. Additionally, his children by marriage, Lisa Thorpe of Windsor, Colorado, Michael Thorpe of Anderson, South Carolina, his niece Barbara Baysinger of Rangeley and many cousins, nieces and nephews in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
He will be missed.
