TOPSHAM — Kenneth Andrew Munsey Sr., 74, resident of Augusta Road in Topsham, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at his residence following a long illness. He was born May 22, 1939, in Brunswick, a son of Frank Andrew and Sarah (Cobb) Munsey.

Mr. Munsey served in the U.S. Navy for several years following the Korean War.

He worked for many years as a drywall installer and worked on many local construction projects in the area over the years.

He was a member of over 40 years of the AMVETS and was also a longtime member of the American Legion Post #202 of Topsham.

Kenneth enjoyed being in the outdoors hunting and was a longtime coin collector.

He was predeceased by his wife, Nancy A. (Small) Munsey, who died in 2009, as well as three sons, David, Roger and Ricky.

Survivors include two sons, Daniel Munsey of Lyman, Kenneth A. Munsey Jr. of Topsham; five daughters, Lee Ludwig of Colorado, Theresa Gauvin of Cumberland, Gale Blake of Whitefield, ME, Ginger Ferland of Springvale, ME and Lynn Farmer of Topsham. He is also survived by a brother, Malcolm Munsey of Washington state and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Kenneth’s life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, from 5 to 11 p.m. at the Topsham American Legion Post #202, Foreside Road in Topsham for anyone who would like to attend. Interment will be in the spring in Village Cemetery, Bowdoinham.
