Brunswick — Susan M. Boissonneault, age 63 of Harpswell, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 22, 2017 at Mid Coast Hospital with her loving family at her side after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Susan was born in Brunswick on April 14, 1954, a daughter of Russell M. and Doris (Chrissman) Carter.

Susan had attended Skagit Valley College in Whidbey Island, WA and received her Certified Nurse’s Aid Certificate and had worked in nursing homes.

After returning to Maine, she worked in local shoe factories as a stitcher.

She married George A. Boissonneault on December 22, 1990.

She had previously attended the Church of the Nazarene in Harpswell, and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary and the AMVETS Auxiliary.

She loved knitting and especially loved her dogs.

Susan is predeceased by her father; a brother, Barry Lee Carter; and a great granddaughter.

She leaves behind her husband of Harpswell; her mother, Doris Owen and her husband, Norman of Harpswell; two daughters, Angel Starkey and her husband, john of Arlington, OH, and Rachel Webber of Sabattus; four brothers, Russell Carter of Richmond, Maurice Carter of FL, Paul Carter of FL, and Bradley Carter of Lisbon Falls; a sister, Deborah Cude of Bath; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
