TOPSHAM — Sally J. Flaig, age 63, of River Road, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at Parkview Adventist Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Worcester, MA, on June 19, 1950, the daughter of George and Phyllis Wheeler Fairhurst.

She was educated in Brunswick schools and graduated from a Rhode Island high school in 1968. She married her soul mate, Roger Flaig on Feb. 20, 1976.

Sally worked in the cafeteria of Mt. Ararat High School for several years and then for Champion Glass for several years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and she has left behind many broken hearts.

Besides her husband Roger, she is survived by two sons, Justin Flaig of Skowhegan and Timothy Flaig of Topsham to whom she was a devoted and loving mother, brothers George Fairhurst and his wife Ginny of Topsham, Thomas Fairhurst and his wife Terri of Newcastle, sister Martha DiMarco and her husband Robert of MA, brothers-inlaw Donald Flaig and his wife Judy, Randall Flaig and Daniel Flaig and his wife Debbie all of Topsham, and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by an infant son, Roger Jr., who died in 1976.

Visiting hours will be held Friday, Dec. 13 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Stetson’s Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick, where a funeral service will follow at 5 p.m. Burial in the spring will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Lisbon Falls.
