RUNNERS GET STARTED on the first annual Moonlight Madness 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk event to raise money for the Freeport Community Services Fuel Assistance Fund. More than 135 participants came out to walk or run the mile around downtown Freeport, just shy of midnight on Black Friday. Once the race was over, Freeport stores opened their doors. The Freeport Interact Club raised $600 for the FCS Fuel Assistance Fund. The Freeport Interact Club was formed in 2009, affiliated with the Rotary Club of Freeport, consisting of over 50 high school students from Freeport, Pownal and Durham.
