GORHAM — The Little East Conference announced its third set of weekly men’s cross country awards Monday, highlighted by University of Southern Maine sophomore Chandler Vincent’s of Pownal and Freeport High School selection as the Runner of the Week.
This is Vincent’s first weekly honor.
Competing this past weekend at the State of Maine Championships, Vincent led the Huskies to their best team finish since 2011 with a third-place finish in the 12- team field.
Vincent was USM’s first finisher, coming across the finish line in fourth place. He covered the 8,000-meter Bowdoin College course in a time of 25:59.50.
Southern Maine is off this weekend as it makes final preparations for the annual Little East Conference Championships at Keene State College on Oct. 28.
