BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick Junior High seventh and eighth-grade boys soccer teams split a pair of games with visiting Lewiston on Tuesday.

The eighth-grader fell, with six goals being scored by the visitors. Kyle Delong was in goal for the Huskies, turning back over a dozen shots, while Albie Putnam was relentless on defense.

Tucker Gagnon, Cal Wilby and Max Rudgers also played well for Brunswick

The seventh-grade match was an exciting contest, with back-to-back dueling goals. The home team scored first on a blast from Liam Driscoll, followed by a penalty kick from Brady LaForge.

Lewiston answered with three goals to close out the half.

The second half was all Brunswick, with Driscoll evening the match off an assist from Zach Stern- Hayer.

Stern-Hayer slotted a ball to a streaking LaForge down the right side, as he blasted in the go-ahead goal with a minute-and-a-half remaining in regulation.

Stern-Hayer and A.J. Wolverton split halves in goal, with Wolverton keeping the clean sheet in the second half to allow Brunswick to surge ahead. Also playing tirelessly for Brunswick was Jared Similien, Kaelin Gerwig and Jack Poulin.
