SYRACUSE, N.Y.
Dan Butler had three hits and scored three runs, and Brian Johnson allowed just three hits over seven innings as the Pawtucket Red Sox defeated the Syracuse Chiefs, 5-0 on Thursday in International League baseball action.
Johnson (3-1) struck out two and walked two to pick up the win.
The Chiefs were held off the scoreboard for the ninth time this season, while the Red Sox’s staff recorded their 13th shutout of the year.
Pawtucket improved to 12-2 against Syracuse this season.
