
He was born in Topsham on July 18, 1934 the son of Harold and Mildred Bowie Ward. He was a 1953 graduate of Brunswick High School.
On September 27, 1955, he married Marlene Guenther.
Fred enjoyed harness racing, raising his own vegetables and spending time with his family at his cottage in Harpswell.
He was a lifelong member of the Elks Lodge and the Topsham Fair Association.
Surviving besides his wife Marlene of 62 years are two sons, Frederick Ward Jr. and his wife Sharon of Brunswick and Walter Ward and his wife Nancy of Harpswell. Also survived by five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was also predeceased by his daughter Phyllis Ward
Yanok and two sisters Marilyn
Sandelin and Marcia
Staples.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 1st at 11
AM at Rogers Cemetery in Topsham.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Harpswell Neck Fire and Rescue 1430 Harpswell Neck Road Harpswell, Me 04079.
