ON MAY 20, the Dean Snell Cancer Foundation held its eighth annual golf tournament at the Brunswick Golf Club. The tournament was a fundraiser for the Dean Snell Cancer Foundation, a non profit organization whose mission is to assist cancer patients at New England Cancer Specialists in Brunswick. When Dean Snell passed away of esophageal cancer eight years ago, his wife and six children established the Foundation in his memory. Cancer patients at NECS have received help with medical co-pays, medication fees, transportation to treatment costs and food. Dean was an avid golfer and this year’s tournament had the largest number of participants ever, with over 30 teams of golfers. Many thanks to the tournament’s title sponsors — Five County Credit Union, First Federal Savings, and NECS. For more information on the Foundation, visit the website at www.deansnellcancerfoundation.org.
