Donald Gill of Hernando, Fl., formally of Bath, passed away March 15, 2017 at home after a prolonged illness with Marsha his wife of 57 years by his side. He was born October 17, 2935, the youngest son of Thomas G. and Annie E Gill of New Bedford, MA.

He was a 20 year veteran of the United States Airforce; he was stationed all over the world including a tour in Laos and Thailand during the Vietnam War.

After his retirement Don and Marsha moved to Bath to raise their four children where he started his career at Bath Iron Works as a Quality Assurance Supervisor. Upon retiring from BIW, Don and Marsha began traveling through the states in their RV, finally settling in Florida to escape the cold winters of Maine.

He was a 50 year member of the Masons serving both in Bath and later Dunnellon, Fl. lodges. He volunteered as a bailiff for the Citrus County Court appearing many times on the local TV station.

In addition to his wife Marsha, he leaves behind his four children, Kimberley A. Williams and her husband Joseph of Woolwich, Maine, Stephen L. Gill of Greenville, South Carolina, Melissa J. Gill of Bowdoin, Maine, and Gary J. Gill of Great Falls, Montana. He also is survived by his grandchildren, Jason R Williams and his wife Sarah of Windham, Nicholas D. Williams and his wife Elisabeth of Portland, Ashley E. Williams of Woolwich, Cory Leavitt of Lisbon, Morgan Leavitt of Bangor, Colby Leavitt of Bath, Benjamin Severt, of Bath, Cristi Gill of Greenville S.C., Zachery Gill and Garret Gill both of Great Falls Montana and a great grandson Owen J Williams of Windham. He also leaves behind an extended family in Fairhaven, MA.

At his request there were no services. Cremation was performed by Davis Funeral Home of Inverness, FL. His last wish was at the passing of Marsha their ashes are be joined in eternity and buried at sea.
