BOSTON — The Boston Celtics traded center Joel Anthony to the Detroit Pistons for guard Will Bynum on Friday.

Bynum averaged 8.7 points and 3.9 assists over 56 games last season, his seventh in the NBA.

Anthony has averaged 2.3 points and three rebounds in his seven years in the league. He spent the first six years with Miami before he was traded to the Celtics in January. He scored 22 points in 21 games after coming to Boston.

Bynum, 31, was the only remaining member of the organization’s last playoff team (2008-09 season). He set a franchise record for points in a quarter with 26 in the fourth against Charlotte on April 5, 2009.

Bynum suffered a hamstring injury on the first day of camp this year and hasn’t seen action in the team’s first four exhibitions.

Sanders is expected to be ready when the regular season begins Oct. 29 against the Charlotte Hornets.

SIX YOUNG adults who broke into the home of former Boston guard Ray Allen were sentenced to community service and ordered to make a charitable contribution.

Police said the group was attending a party Aug. 14 near Allen’s home when they decided go inside because it appeared unoccupied and they were curious. But Allen’s wife and her four children were asleep in the home. Police say the group fled when she awoke and yelled at them.
