A Fryeburg man is being held without bail in the Oxford County Jail on charges of stalking, violating a protection-from-abuse order and violating bail conditions.
Police arrested Eric Smith, 38, on Tuesday when he appeared in Bridgton District Court, where he was scheduled to appear on a separate charge of violating a protection order, police said.
Smith had refused to turn himself in during the weekend, even though he knew police were looking for him, said Police Chief Joshua Potvin.
“We take domestic violence-related crimes very seriously and will hold those accountable for violating the law,” Potvin said.
