AUGUSTA — Gov. Paul LePage’s staff is finalizing plans for the governor’s upcoming inaugural ceremony and party.
The Republican governor will be sworn in before a joint session of the Legislature at 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 7 at the Augusta Civic Center. LePage’s Cabinet officials and Maine Supreme Judicial Court members are also expected to attend.
LePage will outline his policy goals for the next four years, which his administration has said will include reducing the size of government and overhauling welfare programs.
The ceremony will be followed by a party that evening, where the Moon Dawgs, a 1960s Lewiston band, will perform. LePage’s inaugural team says the party will not be a formal ball or black tie event.www.
