Windham Farmers Market reopening May 22

The Windham Farmers Market will be back in town beginning Saturday, May 22, and will be open every Saturday until Oct. 2. The market is located on Turning Leaf Drive, just off Route 302 and River Road.

Vendors include local farmers and artisans who sell a variety of produce, plants and other unique commodities. Some of the vendors to visit are Baker Brook Farm, selling locally raised beef; Hailey’s Kitchen, featuring whoopie pies, confections, pies and cookies; Magnolia Flower Company, offering cut bouquets and designs for weddings and other occasions; and Samantha’s Fresh Produce, where you can purchase fruit, vegetables and floral bouquets. Other vendors offer knit and crocheted pieces, hand-crafted charcuterie boards, fabric accessories for the home and organic jams and jellies. There’s something for everyone, so be sure to stop by and bring some goodies home.

Adopt a park

Windham seniors who like being in the fresh air and digging in the dirt will enjoy taking part in the Adopt-A-Park program being offered by Windham Parks & Recreation. The program allows senior citizens to show pride in their community by working to help beautify some of our town’s most popular outdoor spaces. All the supplies needed will be provided and the department can even offer rides to sites if needed. All seniors are encouraged to participate. The assistance in mulching, weeding, watering and planting flowers will help provide a more beautiful park experience for the entire community. The program begins later this month. Call 892-1905 to register.

Parks & Rec gift certificates

Windham Parks & Recreation is offering gift certificates to purchase on its website. They can be used for any program, activity or admission fee administered by the department. They are available in denominations of $20-$75. For more information, call the Windham Parks & Recreation department at 892-1905.
