Stanley F. Muller
FALMOUTH – Stanley F. Muller, 85, passed away peacefully and comfortably on Sunday, July 3, 2022 surrounded by loving support from his family.
Stan was born on June 29, 1937 in Long Island, N.Y., son of Marion (Munch) Muller and Stanley C. Muller. He attended East Rockaway High School where he excelled in many sports and found his life long love of basketball.
Stanley came to Maine in the late 1950s, where he completed a four-year business degree at Nasson College in Sanford. This is also where he would look out his dorm window and across the courtyard to then fall deeply in love with one adorable and spunky, Joan MacDonald, with whom he would later marry and start a family. This would make him an honorary Mainer.
In 1959, Stan joined the Army and headed to Fort Dix, N.J. to become a sergeant. He served proudly for six years.
Stan had many passions throughout his lifetime. The list is long but some of the highlights were: Motorcycle riding, both on and off road; Skiing, Stan taught all his children how to ski and enjoyed many weekends in the mountains at Sunday River; Baseball, Stan coached little league in Cumberland and very much enjoyed mentoring the kids in the sport of baseball; Gardening, he became an avid gardener and landscape architect creating an oasis on his property in Falmouth; Equestrian, Stan loved horses. He rode western style since he was a young boy in Saugerties, N.Y. at his Grandpa and Grandma Munch’s farm; and finally boating in Portland Harbor, both under sail and power.
Later in life, Stan found Power Weight lifting. He was extremely strong and excelled so much so, he captured the senior Power lifting division for the state of Maine.
The most precious of all his loves and passions was his family and friends. He loved being with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. A night out for a good dinner and a cocktail with loved ones made him very happy.
Stan was predeceased by his wife, Joan Florence Muller; his mother, Marion Muller, father, Stanley Muller; sister, Jeanne (Muller) LaCurtis, Barbara (Muller) Zanichelli; and grandmother, Mae (Muller) Kelly.
Missing him are dog, Brandi; daughter, Lori E. Muller and her husband Alexander D. Carr, son, Michael S. Muller and wife Annette Crosby-Muller, son, William R. Muller; grandchildren Nicholas C. Gast and his wife Vi, Andre L. Carr, Cameron M. Gast and his girlfriend Rachael Tammaro, Jessica C. Muller, Brooke G. Muller; great-grandchild, Brielle Oanh Gast; childhood and life-long friend, Leon Harris.
