KENNEBUNK – The town is looking for two members of the Kennebunk community to sit on a newly formed Climate Action Plan Task Force and looking for applications by Aug. 10.

Kennebunk, Kennebunkport, Kittery and Biddeford, along with Southern Maine Planning and Development Commission, have been awarded funding and work is underway to share resources and experience in developing community-specific Climate Action Plans, organizers say.

Kennebunk’s Task Force, consisting of staff and various stakeholders, including a representative of the select board and those serving on other municipal committees, will serve as the lead for the Climate Action Plan process and plan development.

Task force members will work together with a consultant to involve the community and garner support, provide input on the selection of adaptation and mitigation measures, develop goals for Kennebunk’s Climate Action Plan and serve as a liaison to the Kennebunk Select Board throughout the process.

Interested residents should complete a Task Force Volunteer Form, available in the town manager’s office, town hall lobby or www.kennebunkmaine.us/TaskForceVolunteerForm.

Forms must be submitted by Aug. 10. Appointments are expected to be made at the Aug. 16 select board meeting.
