Gerard “Jerry” Thibeault
SACO – Gerard “Jerry” Thibeault, 73, of Scarborough died peacefully at Genesis Pine Point Center on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022.
He was born in Brunswick, Feb. 26, 1949, the son of Henry Thibeault and Jean Deschaines. Jerry graduated from Brunswick High School and USM with a Bachelor in Education. He began his 33-year education career at a private school in Connecticut and retired in 2005 as a dedicated and beloved member of the Social Studies department with Biddeford Middle School.
During his extensive tenure in athletics, he coached track and football, served as the middle school athletic director in Gorham, and refereed basketball for over 20 years earning him the Ollie Berg Award in 2013. Jerry was also an avid runner in his free time, having completed two marathons and countless other 10K and 5K races.
Jerry is survived by his devoted wife Marcia, son Benjamin and wife Katie, daughter Maggie and husband Dave, son Christian and wife Karla, and five grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be at Hobbs Funeral Home at 671 U.S. Route 1 in Scarborough from 4-6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 24. A celebration of Jerry’s life will follow at Amore on the Marsh, Rt. 1, Scarborough.
