It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mom, Connie Dart Perkins. She passed at home Friday, Oct. 21, 2022, surrounded by her family as was her wish.
Connie was born Aug. 14, 1933, to Dorothy (Goodrich) Dart and Arnold Dart on Pleasant Street in Springvale. She attended Sanford High School and was active in softball, basketball, and cheerleading, graduating in 1951. She attended Nasson College briefly before embarking on her own to Washington, D.C., where she proudly worked for the Pentagon.
She met her husband, David, in Cape Porpoise in 1956 and married soon after. Connie embraced her role as a military spouse and mom. She had fond memories of the many places they were stationed and the lifelong friendships that grew from each place.
Her family loved helping Connie indulge her food cravings, which included sweet and sour chicken, mocha frappes, peanut buster parfaits, and mint chocolate chip ice cream. She had a fondness for playing Parcheesi, and was devoted to her cats over the years, her last being Brandy who she loved dearly. She also loved to knit and crochet and gifted the family with countless baby blankets, afghans, and scarves.
Connie enjoyed attending her class reunions and stayed in contact with many school friends. During a career of office administration, Connie especially enjoyed her time at Hussey Seating Company in North Berwick.
She is survived by her two sons, Thomas and wife, Teri (Savoie) Perkins, of Sanford; Ralph and his wife, Donna (Vincent) Perkins, of North Berwick; her daughters, Sandra Perkins and companion, Peter Fickett, of Lyman; Sharon (Perkins) Bunker and husband, Dewey, of Gorham; five grandchildren, Shannon Perkins, Melissa (Perkins) Price and her husband Tony Price, David Van Blaricom, Allison Bunker and her partner Greg Plank, of Portland and Brian Bunker and his partner Haley McCullough, of Gorham; and five great-grandchildren, Hailey South, Joshua Price, Samantha Price, Hannah Price and Elijah Price.
Connie was predeceased by her grandson Joshua Fisher Perkins and great-grandson Noah Caleb Price.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, Nov. 4 at Oakdale Cemetery at 10 a.m. followed by refreshments at Ralph and Donna Perkins’ home.
Online tributes and memories may be shared at Connie’s Book of Memories at www.bibbersautumngreen.com.
