North Yarmouth native Ben True finished sixth in the men’s 5,000-meter run at the track and field world championships in Beijing Saturday.
Mo Farah of Great Britain won the race in 13 minutes, 50.8 seconds. Farah already had won the 10,000, a double victory matching his accomplishments at both the 2012 Olympics and 2013 Worlds.
True, competing in his first world championships in track and field, finished just behind teammate Galen Rupp in 13:54:07 and just ahead of another teammate, Ryan Hill.
The race is scheduled to be televised at 3 p.m. on NBC.
