Marjorie Plummer
GORHAM – Marjorie Plummer of Gorham, passed away June 2023, following a life well lived and still quite able to drive that Subaru Forester into the heavens.
She was born to Annie and William Crawford in Whitinsville, Mass., Sept. 13, 1929. Educated in Massachusetts, she graduated from Boston University and remained appreciative of her dad who felt women should be equally educated. She worked in New York City, N.Y. at G. Fox as well as the United Nations.
Returning to Boston, Mass., she met her husband, Murray Plummer. They began a full life in Vermont, skiing, hiking, camping and raising a family. She pursued her master’s degree in special education and taught in the public schools for many years. They retired to Cape Cod and enjoyed travel in their retirement years.
She is survived by her children, Paul Plummer, Mark Plummer and partner, Annie Quom and Jody Plummer; as well as her grandchildren Anna, Todd (Carlene) and Addie Halligan.
We remain forever grateful for the amazing care she has received from a host of caregivers. Dr. Heather Schwemm has been the consummate caregiver to Murray, Marge and a few other Plummers. The staff at Avita is exemplary; authentically caring for each and every one of their community. Affinity of Maine continued care for Marjorie with amazing diligence and compassion.
