Sandy Bishop

COLUMBUS, N.C. – Sandy Bishop, born Sandra Jean Traynor on Oct. 22, 1946, in Portland, to Catherine MacNiel and Everett C. Traynor, died Aug. 9, 2023, in Columbus, N.C.

She is survived by Cobie Smith, her partner of 35 years; her children, Catherine “Kate” Bishop and Michael Bishop; and grandchildren, Aya Bishop, Cole Swanson, Soleil Swanson, Oscar Swanson, Chloe Bishop and Willow Bishop.

A private service will follow at a later date.

Her favorite charities are St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Alzheimer’s Association, and Riding to the Top, in Windham.
