Steven Prosper Kalisz

WEST BATH – Steven Prosper Kalisz, 74, passed away Sept. 21, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Steven was born March 3, 1950, to Madeline and Lucien Kalisz in New Britain, Conn. The family later moved to Cromwell, Conn where he completed all his grade school and high school education.

He attained his PhD, Forestry Soils Chemistry & Hydrology, at the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a Post Doctorate at University of North Carolina.

During his time at the University of Massachusetts, he met the love of his life, Leslie Emerson. They met on a Friday and where engaged the following Tuesday, married July 9, 1977. They had three children: Meghan, Christopher, and Erin.

Steve worked as a General Manager at MHR Management LLC. Throughout his career he was known for his hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others. Steve enjoyed talking to people, he was always networking people to people and people with technology. He loved being the GM at MHR, working with a close-knit team.

But more than anything, Steve was a devoted father. He loved spending time with his children, working on projects together, supporting their endeavors, and watching favorite TV Shows. He was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced.

In his free time, Steve, enjoyed working on home improvement, golfing with his friend Stan, and boating. He was an eclectic reader with an eidetic memory and could recall any fact.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Leslie; and their children, Meghan, Christopher and wife Ellen, Erin; and grandchildren Madeline, Oliver, Elizabeth, Sadie, and Alexis; his brother Michael; and niece Sunny.

Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Oct. 26 at Phippsburg Congregational Church, 10 Church Ln, Phippsburg, ME 04562. Memories and Condolences can be shared at http://www.brackettfh.com
