A roughly 1-mile stretch of Libby Avenue in Gorham was closed Monday afternoon due to a structure fire, officials said.

The road is closed between Main Street and Gray Road, part of Route 202, a dispatcher said by phone around 3:45 p.m.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area, Sullivan Stevens, another dispatcher, said in a statement around 3:35 p.m. He did not say when the road might reopen.

Public safety officials could not immediately be reached to provide further details about the fire, including whether any injuries have been reported.
