Earl Eugene Nason Sr.
CRYSTAL – Earl Eugene Nason Sr., 89 years young, passed early morning, Nov. 10, 2025, with his love Donna by his side. He was born in Haynesville on May 21, 1936, the son of Leo and Emma (Mulligan) Nason.
Earl worked in the woods most of his young life then owned his own wood business. He worked for the State of Maine Department of Transportation as a Foreman and truck driver for 15 years where he retired. Not being ready for full retirement, he worked as a Service Technician for Porter’s garage (his second home) for 18 years.
He enjoyed being a father, grandfather, spending time with family and keeping his yard looking pristine. He had a love for classic autos, country music, weekly dancing, hunting, professional wrestling, classic westerns, car racing (#9), cribbage, puzzles of any kind and of course banana splits. He had magic fingers for lottery tickets.
Earl played guitar. Years ago, he and his first wife, Maxine, were a part of a 5-man country music band called the Wood Choppers, playing in the Haynesville area.
He met and then married his current wife, Donna, on Oct. 15, 2016, where he became an intricate member of a blended family, spending time in the MidCoast area.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; son Earl Nason Jr. and daughters Hilda Gifford (Bill), Rosemarie Mello (David) and Rebecca Smith (Mark); grandchildren, Brady (Celine), Megan, Arthur (Marissa), Krystal, Casey, Kimberly (Korey), Jacob (Tyler); and 18 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and many close friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Leo and Emma; siblings, Eldora Gardiner, Rosie Phelps, Elvira McNelly, Nora Rogers, Gerene Fauetner, Mary Shaw, Leo, and Cecil Nason; John, Pearly, and Raymond Spaulding; his first wife, Maxine; son Stanley G. Lee; grandson Bryan Nason, and granddaughter Niomi Mello.
A memorial service will take place at the RIP Museum in Island Falls on Nov. 21, 2025, at 1 p.m. with a reception following, at the VFW Hall in Island Falls. To share memories and condolences please visit http://www.bowersfuneral.com.
