Patricia “Pat” Scribner Bouchard
DURHAM – DURHAM – Patricia “Pat” Scribner Bouchard, 78, of Durham passed away on Jan. 15, 2026, at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick Maine.
Born in Burlington, Vt. on May 15, 1947, Patricia was the daughter of Franklin Scribner and Frieda Badger. She graduated from Montpellier High School in 1965. She attended Henry Heywood Memorial Hospital School of Nursing where she earned her nursing degree. After graduating, she began her dedicated career as a registered nurse working in many different healthcare settings that included Regional Memorial Hospital and Mid Coast Hospital.
Patricia was best known for her kindness and generosity. She loved people. One of her favorite things to do was knitting. She knitted countless mittens, scarves, shawls, etc. for her family and for people in need. After the Boston Marathon bombing, she knitted scarves for those affected by the attack. During the Covid pandemic she worked tirelessly making masks. Patricia will be remembered for her homemade peanut butter fudge and filling her hummingbird feeder each year on May 5 so she could enjoy the hummingbirds on her birthday. She was a kind soul who was always ready to help those in need, and she will be deeply missed.
Patricia is survived by her husband of 58 years, Gerard P. Bouchard; her son Geoffrey Andrew Bouchard (Geoff) and his fiancé Crystal MacGown; her sister Diane Scribner of Durham and her brother Charles Scribner of Vermont; her daughter-in-law Ginny Johnson Bouchard and her granddaughter Lily Bouchard of Bowdon. Georgia; brothers-in-law Bob Bouchard and Raymond Bouchard and sister-in-law Pauline Nesbit. Patricia was preceded in death by her son John Charles Bouchard in 2017.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2026, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 39 Pleasant St., Brunswick Maine. A reception will immediately follow at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 132 McKeen St., Brunswick Maine. Burial will take place at a later date at the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Augusta.
