Martha Miller Faulkner

OCEAN PARK – Martha Miller Faulkner, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed peacefully to be with her Lord on Jan. 11, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Martha was born on Oct. 11, 1945, in Troy, NY, the daughter of Alexander and Vivian Miller. She spent most of her childhood in Albany, NY, where she attended South Colonie High School and later graduated from Albany Memorial School of Nursing.

On August 19, 1967, she married her husband Edward “Ned” Faulkner. Throughout her nursing career, Martha served as a registered nurse in nursing homes, as a labor and delivery nurse, and later as a school nurse, roles that reflected her deep compassion and dedication to caring for others.

In the mid-1980s, Martha and Ned became foster parents. Over the next 20 years, they lovingly cared for more than 40 infants, always providing a safe, nurturing home filled with love and extra care.

In early 2000 Martha and Ned moved to Maine, where she became actively involved in both her church and local community, embracing all that life in Maine had to offer. She was a devoted member of her church families, participating in the choir, working in the nursery, and serving in various ministries.

Martha had a lifelong love of knitting, having learned at an early age. She was highly skilled and generously created countless handmade items for family and friends—treasured gifts that will be cherished for generations.

Martha was predeceased by her parents and her granddaughter, Tessa. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ned Faulkner; her children, Julie Faulkner of Limerick, Maine, and Jonathan Faulkner (Heidi) of Buxton, Maine; her ten grandchildren; and her sister, Barbara Sicko of Greenville, SC.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, Jan. 24, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Grace Bible Church, 1279 Loudon Road, Cohoes, NY. A funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. followed by internment at Hudson View Cemetery in Mechanicville, New York.
